Southside boat ramps

Falmouth Ramps
Barnstable S.Side Ramps
Yarmouth/Dennis S.Side Ramps
Harwich / Chatham S.Side Ramps

The first ramp in Mashpee I am listing here, is the ramp on the Great River, on Town Landing Rd.
This ramp is a little difficult with larger boats (over 20'), the incline is rather steep. Also, the river itself is very shallow at low tide, but with care this ramp can be used at all tides.  The parking lot is for stickers only but you will see a sign on the right, just before you enter the lot about parking.  You can park on the right hand side of the road (in-bound) before this sign. The river leads out to Waquoit Bay and is one of only two ramps that are open to the public that directly access the Waquoit Bay area, the other being over at the Childs River in Falmouth, this is probably the better of the two, both in user friendliness and proximity to the open sound.

The other ramp in Mashpee is located in Pirates Cove on Popponesett Bay. This is a good ramp at all tides, the channel is well marked going out to the sound, the channel markers are all for the center of the channel until you get out to the end near the inlet, then they are "normal" markers, with the standard red right return being used. Pay close attention to the channel markers going in and out of the inlet, both sides of the channel are quite shallow, especially just outside the cut and you WILL run aground at low tide in anything deeper than a short shaft skiff. The parking along the road closest to the ramp is for town residents only but the upper portion of the road is available for non-residents to park.  This is a good ramp for accessing the succonesset
and wreck shoals areas. Good bluefishing close by in the spring too.
