There
is really only one option if you want to fish the sound and launch out
of Yarmouth and that is the ramp at Smugglers Beach, right at the
mouth of the Bass River. It's a good ramp, has floats on each side and
can accomodate 2 boats at a time. There is a fee
at this ramp, I think it's $8? It's probably gone up, but you
really don't have much choice. From the mouth of the river,
Monomoy,
Handkerchief and other good productive striper spots are within a 1/2
hour on a good day. By far this is one of the best ramp options
for summer bass fishing on Cape Cod. This ramp also is close to
some fairly productive fluking grounds, within five miles.
There are other ramps in Yarmouth, but they are farther up the river
and unless you want to waste fuel.....this is it.
There is the ramp at Uncle Freemans Rd., just a mile up the river on
the opposite side, it's a sandy ramp and it does have a dock,
also technically, it's in Dennis. I have a map to that too, right
below the Smugglers Beach map.
